On Thursday night I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the wonderful James Brown of General Pattern at the opening of his print exhibition at my local art gallery, Stour Space.
James is a local artist who fast became one of my favorites a couple of years back when I stumbled across ‘This is where the magic happens’ hanging in my local cafe. It instantly lit up my gloomy hungover day and I knew I had to have it.
After much longing and swooning and being the mega spoilt bitch that I am, my boyfriend managed to get James to part with one of his own personal copies and I finally received the print as a Birthday present!
HOO HA, and so the addiction began…
This will be mine oh yes it will be mine.
The current exhibition of James’s work is a delicious mix of screen, Lytho and Lino prints that will charm the pants off anyone with good taste. It’s a must do if you are in Hackney Wick and want to see what the community of artists have to offer…but be prepared, you will want everything.
So I hope you can pop by and enjoy. I felt compelled to share my love for this amazingly talented man and it’s an absolute honor to have him working in this little artist corner we call The Wick!
